Developers and manufacturers of e-drive components now face new challenges - such as the stringent design and quality requirements that must be met for windings. As well as the types of windings, which need to be selected according to the specific application, another key performance criterion is the placement of the power electronics in the motor.

REDUCE TRANSFER PATHS

To address this challenge, the team at CONNACTIVE considered the motor as a whole. We succeeded in creating shorter connections by intelligently integrating the power electronics directly in the motor, thus avoiding losses and achieving significant cost savings.

SHORTER DISTANCES:

The PCBs are mounted directly on the busbars. This shortens the transmission paths, creates more installation space and prevents transmission losses through the direct connection.

ENHANCED EFFICIENCY:

The direct connection of the boards to the DC busbars enables the orderly and direct current flow through the windings.

Through the compact integration of the power electronics in the motor, we’ve been able to reduce losses and achieve a significant increase in the efficiency of the overall system.
